About the Gulabi Variety

Gulabi is an improved aromatic vetiver variety. It produces medium-tall plants, purple flower heads and long, fibrous roots. Its aromatic roots have a pleasant rose-like fragrance and are valued for essential-oil extraction.

This variety can grow in many different soil types, including dry, poor, alkaline and waterlogged soils. Once established, it is hardy, drought-tolerant and generally easy to maintain.

Propagation

Vetiver is normally propagated through rooted slips. After the plants become mature and form large clumps, the clumps can be divided into smaller rooted slips and replanted.
